Baby Face, Boyz to Men, J Lamont, VIC, After Seven Performed at Austin Urban Music Festival

TAAN has been up and running since the last week in December...we've gone global!  Yeeaaa!  Now we want to branch out and add an entertainment section...there's a lot going on out there in the entertainment world.

Myself and Kendra Hill, CEO of IAM-San Antonio attended the Urban Music Festival in Austin, Texas this past weekend.  We were surrounded by celebrities from the 70's and 80's.  We were there to get drops for QLiveOne and Jammin 8 radio stations.

Baby Face was the headliner Saturday night, singing everything from Whip Appeal to When Can I See You...he sang all our favorite love songs...I love that man!!!  In the late 1980s, he contributed to the creation of new jack swing, writing and producing music for the likes of Bobby Brown, Karyn White,Pebbles, Paula Abdul and '80s icon Sheena Easton.
In 1989, Edmonds co-founded LaFace Records with Reid. Three of the label's early artists TLCUsher, and Toni Braxton were successful, the former becoming one of the best selling female groups in music history. Braxton's eponymous 1993 debut album went on to sell over eight million copies, and earned her the 1994 Grammy Award Best New Artist. TLC's first two albums on LaFace—1992's Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip and 1994's CrazySexyCool—combined to sell more than 15 million copies in the U.S. CrazySexyCool won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best R&B album.

After Seven opened the show on Saturday and sang my all time favorite songs...Ready or Not...I screamed uncontrollably.  After 7 is an R&B group founded in 1988 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, and Keith Mitchell. The Edmonds brothers are the siblings of popular pop and R&B singer-songwriter-producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds" (Melvin is older, and Kevon - born Kevin - is younger). Mitchell was long thought to be the cousin of Babyface's then-partner, songwriter-producer Antonio "L.A." Reid, however, this was actually set up as a marketing tool for the group and was actually incorrect.[1]

Boyz to Men took the stage and wooed the audience for about an hour.  Boyz II Men formed at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts in 1988 as a quintet; however, original member Marc Nelson left the group before its first studio recording to pursue a solo career. In the 1990s, Boyz II Men gained international celebrity behind unprecedented success on the pop charts. The group's first single to reach number 1, 1992's "End of the Road", a phenomenal hit, reached the top of charts across the globe.[3] "End of the Road" would set a new record for longevity, staying at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks, breaking a decades-old record held by Elvis Presley.

Publisher of TAAN had an opportunity to interview and get drops from most of the celebrities that performed a the Urban Music Festival...the TAAN Crew bumped into Bernadette Stanis and V.I.C. on the grounds and were able to get drops from them...they interviewed Noel Gourdeen by phone, Friday before the show and interviewed comedian J. Lamont backstage along with Boyz to Men and Kevon Edmonds, one of the founders of After7 & Baby Face's brother.

Had an absolute blast...wanna do it again!  Thanks QLiveOne
