Who Sets the Standards on How We Talk...How we Dress...How we Should Act...and What Gives them the Right

by Laura Thompson

The world goes round and round...thoughts and beliefs are passed generation after generation...we continuously debate over racial issues, women's rights, who's smarter, who's prettier, and who has the right to do certain things...who's more important...and the differences of opinion goes on and on. We have experts on everything under the sun and we have groups of people that fight to keep other groups from gaining a voice, visibility, and freedom. The constitution is picked a part to meet the needs of those in power.

Although the world is changing...has changed... and will continue to change...we still attempt to function based on rules that were established long ago. Women have been fighting for their rights for many years and those issues are resurfacing now. Women should have a right to make decisions about what they want to do with their bodies, although there may be some merit to what men believe is best for women...but those personal decisions should be left up to couples and families, not policy makers.

The medical system is changing and has changed, so those changes will impact the monies that states will receive. Forcing physicians that provide abortion services to establish separate facilities licensed by the state is assurance that the state will continue to receive monies that will be lost by the hospital system. There is an establishment that is being rocked at its very core by people who are not buying into being dictated to, oppressed and controlled.

How dare a government use Mexican immigrants to literally be their servants, but not support citizenship. Power is being shaken up in America and it is going to be interesting how everything will play out. As taxpaying citizens...we have a voice and the power to continue to push the needle to ensure that as we move forward... the power to get some of the things we need to live the quality of life that we have been promised in a constitution.  And to insist  that the constitution be used in the best interest of all in our country.

An injustice against one of us...is an injustice against all of us.

Women...stand strong! Immigrants...stand strong! Be a part of the Change..."We the people" includes all Americans...not just a select few.
