What Does the George Zimmerman & Trayvon Martin Case Mean to You

We all have a point of view and a perspective based on our experiences, realities, opinions, influences and culture.  From some African American's perspective, we believe that racial profiling of our young black men is alive and well.  That modern day racism is protected by a legal system that was designed by the perpetrators that are profiling our young black men.  But how do you prove this underlying behavior and belief and what is it based on.

On the other hand, the powers at be and individuals that believe that black people are angry, paranoid...a system that is accustomed to viewing young black males in a negative light have a different point of view and deny their accused racism.

Then there's the human perspective on both sides that just see two young men whose altercation ended in the death of a young teenage boy (not necessarily a black boy) just a young teenager.  This group sees the incident not as an accident, but unfortunate and heart wrenching.

I believe all want justice to prevail....the only thing is that justice looks different to everybody.

Even Zimmerman himself has a perspective, an opinion and a belief that somehow he did the right thing by taking the life of Trayvon Martin in self defense.  He felt that it was his appointed duty to protect the neighborhood of the embarrassment of having a young black boy, who lived in the neighborhood with his dad...Zimmerman feels he took care of the problem.  Although in his heart, he might feel that he was wrong...he has not admitted it...and of course he won't...because after all...everyone wants their freedom.

Trayvon Martin did not live in freedom...he was not free to walk the streets in safety...he was not free to wear a hoodie...he was not free to run to get out of the rain...although he realized that prejudice did exist in his young life and felt that he was sometimes a victim of racism...he did not live  life long enough to do anything about it...to stand up for his rights...to become a productive citizen...he probably lived in fear...and then
he died in fear.
