Technology Makes it Easier to Watch Television on the GO!

Over 20 years ago, I had an opportunity to be at the very beginning of the Internet boom.  My job was to sell dial up Internet, ISDN connections and web design (websites).  Not a lot of companies or people were open to the idea of the Internet because it was so new.  Personally, I was very intrigued by everything about the Internet because I could see the possibilities that the Internet was able to provide.

As early as 1996, I had the idea to watch TV via the Internet.  I had absolutely no idea how it would work or if it would work, just thought it would be cool.

Fast forward from then to now, Internet television is out pacing cable television right now and continues to soar.  There are many ways to watch TV now and that vision about Internet television has come into fruition for me.

In 2013, we began to interview groups of people in the community with one show called Community Conversations. Tyrone Darden was the host and I was the camera person, utilizing my mobile phone. We were on the cutting edge and the very beginning of launching the African American Network - TAAN TV.

We began filming and uploading our interviews to YouTube for the first couple of years, covered and interviewed a few concerts and comedy events.  We took a brief hiatus and in February of this year, we started full speed ahead with a full blown online, live stream, 24 hour television network.  Now TAAN TV can be seen on three different platforms.  We're online at www.taan.tv, we have an app on all the Android mobile devices and we also have an app on ROKU (just went public a couple of weeks ago). As long as you have an Internet connection, you can watch TAAN TV.

We are excited to provide a platform that allows a community of people to grow together, get exposure and help people get to the next level.

The African American Network - TAAN TV is an online television platform that focuses on creating opportunities for broadcasters, filmmakers, writers and businesses who have an interest in depicting African Americans on the big screen.

TAAN TV is on the path to building a great network and build community globally.  After all we have a "Local Feel and a Global Reach".
