ABOUT EQUITY CROWDFUNDING
Equity Crowdfunding was made possible by a law signed by President Barack Obama. The Jobs Act of 2012 allows individuals with an annual income of $30,000 per year to invest up to $2,200 annually, in early stage companies. Prior to this law, only wealthy (accredited investors) were allow to make such investments. The law was passed in order to give early stage companies access to a greater pool of investment dollars, while providing an opportunity for all Americans to take part in early stage business investing.
Safeguards are in place to protect the public:

* All offerings are performed on Funding Platforms/Portals that are regulated by government agencies FINRA and SEC.

* The campaign offering page must contain factual information in order to allow an investor to make an informed investment decision.

* The platform must be used as the only means of communication between the Issuer of the investment security and the Investor.

* Investments are made through the platform itself, and not directly to the issuer.

* If the Issuer violates the rules enacted under this law, he or she can be compelled to return all funds to the investors, and risk civil and criminal penalties.
