SOLD OUT: Obama Breezes through Texas on Tuesday...a $2,000,000 Visit

President Barack Obama is scheduled to zip in and out of Texas on Tuesday in a speedy fundraising jaunt that could garner his presidential campaign millions of dollars and maybe even represent a record haul for the president.
Obama will start his day Tuesday in Washington, D.C. Then he'll fly to San Antonio for two fundraisers before coming to Austin for two more.
A source close to the events said the president is expecting to collect upward of $2 million for his campaign, possibly outpacing his previous one-day fundraising totals in Texas.
In Austin, the president's first stop will be a fundraiser beginning at 3 p.m. at the Austin Music Hall, where Obama will attend an event by the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Leadership Council. Musician Jerry Jeff Walker is scheduled to perform.
"We are proud and happy to support the president on his swing though Texas," Walker said through his office. "Hope we can do it again in a few years."
Tickets start at $250 per person; preferred viewing tickets will cost $1,000 per person. Also, individuals who dish out $5,000 will gain access to a photo reception with Obama; couples will pay $7,500 for the special access.
Obama also will attend a more intimate affair. After the Austin Music Hall event, he's scheduled to join a fundraiser hosted by former Dell Inc. finance chief Tom Meredith.
Meredith didn't return a call seeking specifics, but sources close to the event said guests will pay $25,000 per couple to attend the function at the former computer executive's residence at the Four Seasons downtown. The sources declined to be identified because they were not authorized to give details of the fundraisers.
Before flying to Austin, Obama will attend a fundraiser at San Antonio's Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, a larger venue that became necessary because of greater than anticipated demand, sources close to the event told the San
 Antonio-Express News.
About 1,000 people are expected.
The San Antonio Express-News also reported that Obama also will attend a higher-dollar fundraiser — with contributions starting at $5,000 — hosted by lawyer Mikal Watts.
Whenever a president visits a city outside of Washington, traffic problems and temporary road closures occur.
The U.S. Secret Service said authorities would do their best to minimize the effect, though neither they nor Austin police would discuss traffic plans. Still, traffic snarls are likely downtown in the late afternoon and early evening.
At least one state agency that has offices downtown is considering taking steps to spare workers the hassle. Leaders at the Texas Department of Insurance are thinking about bringing in workers for a half day or perhaps operating with a lighter than normal crew, department spokesman Ben Gonzalez said.
Obama's campaign and the Democratic Party are coming off a difficult period in terms of fundraising. Obama and the Democrats raised $71 million in June, well below the $106 million hauled in by rival Mitt Romney and the Republican Party during the same period. June was the second straight month in which Romney outraised Obama.
Ann Marie Habershaw, chief operating officer of Obama's campaign, said in an email to supporters that June was the best fundraising month of the campaign, but Obama and the Democrats still were behind Romney and the Republicans.
The president recently has sought to boost his fundraising, and on Monday, he attended two intimate campaign fundraisers at a Washington hotel. Tickets cost $40,000 per person, with 20 attendees at each event.
Romney's surge puts him on track to raise the $800 million his campaign and the Republican National Committee hope to bring in by Election Day, leaving the real possibility that Obama could be outspent despite the advantages of incumbency.
