Repost: CHRISTMAS IS COMING...WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER

Christmas is one of the most anticipated days of the year.  A lot of giving takes place during the Christmas season.  There are a lot of parties and celebrations that take place.  Food and drinks (spirits) seem to be the order of the day.  Christmas symbolizes the end of the year and a warm and fuzzy time for most.

During the Christmas season, let us not forget the less fortunate, the homeless, kids that may not receive the love that Christmas brings.  Visit hospitals this week and take a card or two and some flowers.  Take cookies to nursing homes and shelters.  Visit someone that is sick and shut in this week.  Smile a lot at everyone that you see.  Put someone else first this week.  Renew relationships.  Hold hands, hug a lot.

Watch movies with family and friends.  Snuggle under a warm blanket and drink some hot chocolate with whipped cream and marsh mellows.  Go where people love you and want you around.

Surprise someone with a gift that they always wanted.  Be kind to someone that may be going home to a situation that is not so loving.  Invite someone to share Christmas dinner with your family that may live in your home town, but do not have family to share the holidays with.

Go Christmas caroling or just sing Christmas songs together around the house this week.  If you haven't done so already, go downtown in your city and look at the Christmas lights and decorations that the city has provided for you.  Take pictures with Santa Claus (not just kids, adults too).

Greet shoppers and sales clerks and everyone you see with a hearty Merry Christmas.  Carry pockets full of change to share with the Salvation Army helpers.

Whatever to do this Christmas season...do it with love, a smile and spirit of gratitude...Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for reading The African American Network Blog.  We are a week old and plan to be around for a while.  Much prosperity to you in the upcoming year.  MERRY CHRISTMAS.  Follow us at theafricanamericannetwork.blogspot and tell your friends about us.
